The rear ramp door, which eases and minimizes the loading/unloading operations, can be opened in flight for paratroop dropping or aerial delvery of cargo and supplies to remote locations.
There is also a maritime patrol version of the C-212 (C-212 Patrullero), which is in service in eight countries.
